You're all set.
Veneer is now living quietly in your toolbar. Here's a 60-second tour of what you can do with it.
Find the V in your toolbar
Look for the violet V icon at the top right of your browser. If you don't see it, click the puzzle icon → pin Veneer for one-click access. Click it any time to open the rule editor.
Pick what you want to do
Veneer has four modes, each does one thing well:
Replace
Substitute any text with your own.
Highlight
Detect patterns and color them in.
Mask
Block out sensitive data with overlays or blur.
Pin
Lock any element to a fixed value.
Try your first rule
Open the popup, pick the Mask tab, type a word (your own first name?) into the input, and click Add rule. Visit any page that contains it. It's blurred. That's it.
A few shortcuts to remember
- Alt+Shift+V Pause or resume Veneer globally
- Right-click on any selected text → "Mask with Veneer"
- Click the V icon in your toolbar to open the popup
Your data never leaves your machine
Veneer processes pages locally inside your browser. We don't track which sites you visit, we don't have analytics on your usage, and our backend is hosted in France on infrastructure certified SecNumCloud — so even our own server sits under EU jurisdiction.
